Condition

Basically to explain easy and quick the condition, Hudson has a hole between the two bottom chambers of his heart. Furthermore, one of the arteries (that goes to the lungs ~ pulmonary artery) is narrow, while another artery (aorta) is crossing over and effecting the oxygen levels the body will receive. This will be fixed with a surgery. We don't know if that will happen right away or later. Doctors would like to wait until he is 9 months old if he can hold out that long...

  1. Jen, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. My oldest son had a LVSD (hole in the bottom two chambers of his heart), we were fortunate, he did not need surgery, but a friend of ours had a son who did. He spent his first birthday in Children's Mercy after having open heart surgery. The great news is, he's fully recovered and you would never know he's gone through something so significant. He was out of ICU within 48 hours of surgery! Little ones are such troopers and I know the doctors will take good care of him! Hang in there!

  4. You're a natural at blogging! I am glad you came over on Sunday, you seemed so calm, collected and strong. Hudson is lucky to have such a great heart mom. I'll be thinking about you guys in the months ahead. Let me know if you ever have any other questions or just want to talk.

Here is a link to the heart valve research I was talking about:

They have actually started clinical trials. It is pretty amazing. I think by the time our boys need them, it will be a routine procedure.
